What is Datostada and what are its aims?
Datostada: Where Science and Industry meet Data, in Mexico is an international meeting for academia, private companies and government, in order to prosecute and disrupt the scientific and technological potential in the southeast of the country and the neighboring regions, since such an event has been unprecedented.
We want to accomplish this goal by democratizing knowledge on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and their role in social good and natural science.

When and where will Datostada take place?
Datostada will take place on March 12 - 14, in Mérida, Yucatán (Mexico 🇲🇽).

Who can apply to Datostada? Is it open to all the neighboring communities in the region?
We seek to create open spaces for people from various social groups, regardless of gender or ethnicity, the only two requirements we ask for are enthusiasm for the topic and basic knowledge in the field. That is, basic knowledge of programming, probability and statistics.

Are there some kind of financial support for assistants coming from outside Yucatán?
We work to ensure the quality of the event, including having first level speakers; so we do not have support for attendees at this time.

Why should I apply to attend Datostada?
The content will be designed and taught by professionals associated with Google and IBM, to name a few, in addition to having professors-researchers from across the continent, which makes it an unprecedented international event in the southeast of the country and a unique opportunity to meet with the great minds that today are leaders in the field of Data Science.

When do applications for Datostada open and close?
The applications are open and can be found in this site.

Should I bring my own laptop for the workshops & tutorials?
Yes! We expect each of the attendees bring their own material and requirements for the event.
